The following images are reduced photos of kites I have built and enjoy flying.
Click on the image to bring up a larger picture.

Starting in this gallery,
I have used larger image file sizes because of the faster modems now in use and the better image clarity.

Navy Dove - Small, built 1999
4 ft long x 6 ft wide, xxxx ozs.
3/4 oz. ripstock nylon, 1/4" wood dowels, graphite tubing
Comments: Basic design also the British book, "KITES". Construction details and graphics are mine.
This is a WWII naval kite with no vertical cross spars. Interconnected lines "hold" the shape, instead of rigid cross spars "pushing out" the shape.

Navy Dove - Version II, built 1999
4 ft long x 6 ft wide, xxxx ozs.
3/4 oz. ripstock nylon, graphic tubing"
Comments: I added the V keel to the above kite design to make it more impressive (I think).
Because of the vertical connecting lines used to "hold" the kite shape, they lay flat when on the ground.
